John R. Ascenzo serves as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in Milestone’s Dallas office. In this dual role, he oversees all legal, regulatory, and compliance functions for the firm. He is instrumental in shaping corporate policy initiatives and managing the firm's outside counsel across various transactions and legal proceedings. As Chief Compliance Officer, Mr. Ascenzo leads Milestone’s compliance program, ensuring the firm adheres to evolving regulatory requirements and continually implementing best practices in corporate governance. He also manages Milestone’s comprehensive insurance programs and risk management strategies.
With a career dedicated to corporate transactional law, Mr.Ascenzo specializes in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and real estate. Prior to joining Milestone, he worked at Vinson & Elkins LLP, representing domestic and international clients in complex M&A and private equity ventures. He began his legal career as an associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP.
Mr. Ascenzo holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law. He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and is admitted to practice in both Texas and North Carolina.
