John R. Ascenzo is General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Milestone. In this dual capacity, he oversees all legal and regulatory functions for the firm, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings and compliance. He is instrumental in shaping corporate policy initiatives and managing the firm's outside counsel across various transactions and legal proceedings. As CCO, John leads Milestone’s compliance program, ensuring the firm adheres to evolving regulatory requirements and continually implementing best practices in corporate governance. John also manages Milestone’s comprehensive insurance programs and risk management strategies.

 With a career dedicated to corporate transactional law, John specializes in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and real estate. Prior to joining Milestone, he worked at Vinson & Elkins LLP, representing domestic and international clients in complex M&A and private equity ventures. He began his legal career as an associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham& Taft LLP.

 John earned his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law. He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and is admitted to practice in both Texas and North Carolina.
